Editorial Book Review:

By James Howard

"A Dash of Good" by Evan Dash is an interesting and motivating guide for would-be business owners and entrepreneurs who want to add values to their projects. Dash's path from firefighter to corporate leader and finally to successful business owner shows how kindness, honesty, and a focus on service can change people's lives.

The first part of Dash's book is about his early years as a firefighter, where he learned the value of teamwork, commitment, and making other people's lives better. Later, when he was Senior Vice President of Macy's, these core ideals helped him reach the top of the business world. His story takes a sad turn, though, when he loses sight of these ideals. This causes him to be fired quickly, which leads to a time of deep personal reflection.

"A Dash of Good" really shines when Dash comes back as a business. Evan shares how he started a business selling cooking products with the goal of helping people. This goal-oriented method not only boosts his job, but it also provides a welcome change from typical business strategies. Dash stresses building a company atmosphere based on sensitivity, community, and a real desire to make customers' lives better. This way of thinking not only keeps customers coming back, but it also helps the business grow and be useful.

Dash's advice on how to deal with business problems is one of the best things about the book. His advice is very helpful for getting money, dealing with competitors, and making a good sale. Evan also shares his account of how the DASH brand went from nothing to over a billion dollars in sales and many awards is both amazing and educational.

A common theme in Dash's writing is his focus on values, which shows how his firefighting beliefs have helped him as a business. "A Dash of Good" is a must-read for anyone who wants to build a business that lasts, through the author's honest stories and useful tips you are able to gain great advice.

Evan Dash not only shares his business knowledge in "A Dash of Good," but also his heart. Giving readers a guide to success as moral as it is profitable. Those who think that real business success results from improving the life of others and following their ideals should definitely read this book.

Dash traded his firefighting gear for a suit and tie and moved into the corporate world, leveraging his leadership skills and tenacity to climb the ranks. He eventually became Senior Vice President of home products for Macy’s at a time when the Food Network was turning chefs into celebrities, and the kitchen was becoming the center of the home.

After learning the ins and outs of the kitchen products business, his entrepreneurial vision set him on a path to redefine the kitchenware landscape. Alongside his wife Rachel, they launched DASH, their namesake kitchenware brand.
