4 STAR REVIEW
I Sight: The Power of Perception by James Eliol Mercer is a heartfelt memoir that details the author's journey through childhood and beyond. He chronicles his journey as his sight gradually worsens, and finally, he becomes legally blind. There's a lot of detail in this story, both about the surroundings, which were often quite beautiful and challenging, but also about his family and the dynamics therein. It's interesting to note how the author grew through his experiences in school both good and bad and prevailed to lead a full life. The book does need a touch of editing, there were some misspellings and some missing letters from words. Otherwise, a solid read and truly engaging.
