Editorial Book Review:

By Morgan Smith

I was pulled into a world where truth and imagination are always changing from the first page on. It made me wonder what was real and what was made up. After being kicked out of the only home he's ever known, the story is about a young man who looks for meaning, freedom, and a place to join. During his trip, he goes from trying to stay alive to having an almost mythical experience in a strange group. This story really hooked me because it has a lot of psychological depth, learning about yourself, and strange parts.

What stood out the most was the dreamlike quality of the writing. It was hard to tell what would happen next because every scene seemed like it was on the verge of a hallucination. There were times when it felt very spiritual, like the world was talking to the characters and helping them understand things better. The strange and symbolic dreams, the mysterious ideas, and the sudden power surges that no one could explain made for an interesting and difficult to follow story.

Beyond the surreal aspects, the book also offered a deeply human exploration of trauma, resilience, and the desperate need for connection. The protagonist’s emotional journey felt raw and honest, with moments of doubt, fear, and longing that resonated deeply. At its heart, this is a story about seeking belonging in a world that often feels indifferent. The relationships, whether fleeting or profound, felt real and complex, adding weight to every interaction.

The writing was deep and moody, bringing to life both the rough life of a young man who is having a hard time and the magical beauty of the new world he finds by accident. The difference between these two places made the stress higher and each choice feel more important. The story left me thinking long after I turned the last page—about destiny, about perception, and about how much of our world is shaped by our own minds.

This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys stories that blur the line between the seen and unseen, between what is real and what we believe to be real. It’s an emotional, thought-provoking journey that challenges expectations and lingers in the mind like a dream you can’t quite shake.
