Editorial Book Review:
By Morgan Smith
Loved Christy Whitman's book The Desire Factor: How to Embrace Your Materialistic Nature to Reclaim Your Full Spiritual Power. It was very inspiring and powerful for me. The thing I loved most about this book is how it combined useful tools with spiritual knowledge to help people understand how desire and energy are connected. Whitman not only talks about making dreams come true in a broad sense, but she also breaks the process down into steps that anyone can follow, even if they don't know much about spirituality. The main idea of the book taught me something new: giving in to your wants is not only okay, it's helpful for your mental and personal growth.
One of the things I liked most about Whitman was how she thought about things. There is no negative meaning in her words about wanting things. Instead, she says that wanting things is a normal part of being human and that we shouldn't feel bad about it. This was such a nice change of viewpoint, because spiritual teachings can make us think that wanting things is wrong. Whitman instead tells her readers to accept their wants and use them to grow. She does this to show that real spiritual power comes from being able to balance our wants and needs.
This book tells you a lot of useful things, like the seven general rules that guide manifestation. It's like having your own personal guide walk you through the steps, because each idea is made clear and simple to apply in real life. I also liked how Whitman stressed how important it is to feel joy and hope while pursuing goals. Focusing on making an energy of having, even before something shows up, felt both powerful and life-changing. What it taught me is that our energy affects everything we do and that we can change that energy to get what we want.
To put it briefly, The Desire Factor presents a fresh perspective on desire, energy, and manifestation and is a very inspirational and useful book. After it, I felt inspired, in sync, and eager to embrace the aspirations that I had previously dismissed as being overly materialistic. This book was enjoyable to read because of Whitman's friendly, approachable writing style, and I think it will have a lasting effect on anyone hoping to clearly and purposefully realize their aspirations.
