Editorial Book Review:
By Roxanne Jeffrey
Some books ease you into their world. THE FURY: Chapter 1 - VEGAS doesn’t really wait for you to catch up. It drops you straight into something loud, tense, and already in motion. That’s what makes it stand out right away. It feels less like a beginning and more like you’ve walked into the middle of something that’s been building for a while.
Reading it feels fast, almost restless. Scenes move quickly, and there’s a constant sense that something is about to go wrong, or already has. I found myself reading in short bursts, not because it’s heavy, but because it carries this sharp energy that doesn’t really let you settle. It’s more about momentum than reflection, but there are flashes where you start to wonder what’s underneath all that movement.
The story leans into control, power, and survival, especially in a place like Vegas where everything feels like it’s on edge anyway. It doesn’t slow down to explain those ideas, but they’re there in the background of every decision. Who has the upper hand, who’s losing it, and how quickly that can flip. That tension feels familiar even outside the setting.
Creator Jimmie writes in a way that feels visual first. You can almost see the scenes before you fully process them. The structure is tight and scene driven, which keeps everything moving, sometimes at the expense of depth, but that seems intentional. It reads like something built for impact rather than introspection. There are moments where the imagery hits in quick flashes, more like snapshots than long descriptions.
By the end, it doesn’t feel complete, and it’s not supposed to. It feels like the first piece of something larger that’s still unfolding. It’s worth reading if you want something that moves fast and pulls you in without over explaining itself, especially if you’re curious about where that energy is going next.
