David Paul Bradford, who writes under the pen name David Johnson, is a multifaceted author with a rich personal and professional history. He has navigated complex identity changes throughout his life and honors his mother, Barbara Johnson, through his literary work.
Bradford holds degrees from Citrus Junior College, UCLA, and Antioch University, with studies spanning political science, clinical psychology, and philosophy. A lifelong musician, he has performed nationally and internationally in various choirs and ensembles.
His spiritual journey blends traditional Christian faith with esoteric studies, including membership in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and the Freemasons. Professionally, Bradford is known for “The Bradford Decision,” a landmark legal stance regarding residency and tuition at UCLA, which influenced California legislation.
Bradford served in the Los Angeles County Superior Court’s Domestic Violence Court and led labor efforts as president of a clerks’ association. He also developed innovative therapeutic programs using film for behavioral change.
