Usually, personal transformation begins with one insight—that of awareness of the stories we write for ourselves. This book presents a simple yet efficient approach taken to a new level for locating and modifying the unconscious stories that shape our emotions, behavior, and relationships. The simplicity and depth of this approach really caught me. Although it seems almost too good to be true—that just seven words may release the secret scripts running in the background of our minds—the way it is described and used makes perfect sense.
The author does an amazing job of balancing insight with usefulness. The book offers specific actions for seeing and reevaluating limiting beliefs, not only a broad discussion of change. The approach is clear-cut and easy to follow; what I valued most was how it motivates readers to interact with their own experiences instead of imposing a one-size-fits-all answer. The storytelling aspect adds warmth and relatability, making the book feel more like a conversation than a lecture.
There’s also a refreshing blend of psychology, mindfulness, and real-life applications woven throughout. The book draws from a range of perspectives, from neuroscience to spiritual teachings, which makes it accessible to different types of readers. For people who value both pragmatic self-improvement strategies and deeper introspection, it presents a rare mix of scientific foundation and emotional depth that appeals. I really enjoyed how it addressed emotional obstacles—not by strict guidelines but by easy exercises meant to inspire personal discoveries.
Beyond just personal growth, the book highlights how these narratives affect relationships, communication, and even success in various aspects of life. The insights aren’t just theoretical; they’re based on real conversations with people from different backgrounds, which gives the content a universal feel. Whether you’re struggling with self-doubt, relationship challenges, or simply a feeling that something’s holding you back, this book offers a gentle yet powerful way to start shifting your mindset.
What I loved most was how hopeful and empowering it felt. Instead of feeling like another set of self-help rules, it reads like an invitation to explore, discover, and ultimately rewrite the stories that have been shaping your life. It’s an inspiring, eye-opening guide to lasting change.
Jerry Giordano

Jerry Giordano is an award-winning advertising and branding copywriter as well as creative director who has lived and worked in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, and Dallas. His skills in creating breakthrough ideas and his know-how to make them understandable and relevant led him to work for some of the largest advertising agencies in the world including Ogilvy and J. Walter Thompson. He was also the in-house Creative Director for the National Football League and has helped propel an impressive array of powerhouse brands including Duracell, Kraft Foods, American Express, the National Football League, Maxwell House Coffee, Philip Morris Corporate, Fox Studios, Food & Wine Magazine, International Paper, the United Way, Hardees, the British Tourism Authority, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and countless others.
Being a polymath with an unquenchable curiosity has led Jerry to become a keen observer of the human psyche and ensuing behaviors. Typically, his work starts with the notion that “he knows nothing,” which allows him to consider everything—sifting through content to find the gem. Jerry is a collector, inspector, and connector of dots, which he credits to much of his success as an advertising creative and the author of Your 7 Words to a Happier You. Jerry was a co-producer of one of the world’s first TEDx events, has penned four screenplays—including a top 10 finalist at the SLAMDANCE film festival—studied sketch comedy professionally at Second City in Chicago, and has performed sketch comedy in NYC and regularly on the main stage at the Comic Strip in LA. He collects quotes and old cameras, photographs manhole covers (street art) around the world, and is obsessed with the JFK assassination (which he will gladly discuss the responsible players ad nauseam over a scotch or coffee). Jerry also meditates regularly. Though originally from New Jersey, he now lives in the moment.
